I know it's been a few months since I've updated this, but I've been in the wilderness most of the time so that'll be my excuse. Joel said I need to update so people actually know what's going on in my life. Well here it goes:
I've been working at a summer camp for the past two months in Madison (about an hour east of Tallahassee in the middle of nothing-ness). It's the Cherry Lake 4-H center run by the University of Florida (dun-dun-dunnnnn...). Yes, UF is paying a FSU alumni because they know to hire the best!! And I, along with my fellow Tallahassee girl, Souna ( from FAMU), make sure we always let everyone know which schools are the best!! I have to say this has been one of the most fun experiences in a really long time. My staff is absolutely amazing. Here's a little run down of them:
Shawn: The Boss Man...reminds me so much of my dad. He loves to fish, work on cars, talk and just a great guy in general.
Neva: The Boss Lady. She will do anything for you and she's like an aunt to me here!
James: The first guy I met here and gave me a run down of everything. He tries to act all tough at first and looks the part being 6'6", but he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and a real gentleman.
Austen: The guy that lives down the street from camp...literally (only about a mile). He is super smart and really good at just throwing something together and making it look totally planned out.
Kyle: The British South-African. He was born in South Africa and always claims his roots there, but he's been in the UK for the past 7 years or so. He's the only one on staff that's bugged me a lil bit because he talks a little too much (yes, more than me) and he can be a sexist at times. But other than that, he's still part of the family.
Mikie: My little brother at camp. He's the youngest and I'm the oldest, but somehow we just click. Most of the time we're arguing or fighting with each other, but deep down we really do like each other. Like I said, he's the little brother I never had and I never really wanted....haha
Souna: RATTLERS!! Hissssss.....My girl from Tally. She has a very similar attitude to me and she is just a very well rounded. Her only downfall is that she's late sometimes and loves to sleep, but we love her for it!! This is definitely gonna be one of my girls for a long time and is gonna help plan my wedding!
Kat: My sister I never knew I had. No one can ever tell us apart. Both Renrick and her boyfriend have confused us so I guess we can't deny that we look alike. That just means she's absolutely gorgeous!! Hehe :) But deeper than that, she is an amazing girl to have around to talk to and this past week I think we've gotten even closer because we've been the only girls at camp. She's also goofy (probably more so than me) which makes her a blast to have around. She's gonna come back next year and hopefully attendy Uni in the States. I can't wait!!
Ok, wow... that was a long run down of the staff....I think I'll leave it with that and I'll update later with more details about the summer and its hilarious events. Just realize I'm having a blast!!
